Beach wedding spots on Kauai are abundant.
It’s not surprising that so many people choose to get married here. However, for those who do choose to tie the knot on Kauai, it can be difficult at first to narrow down the selection of outstanding beach wedding locations. This blog is written to help you find the best fit in terms of locale if you’re having your wedding on Kauai.
#1 of the Best Beach Wedding Spots on Kauai: Lydgate Beach, Wailua
Lydgate Beach on Kauai’s East Side is a hidden gem that many visitors overlook. Located near the sacred Wailua River, it is very private – you will probably have the whole beach to yourself if you decide to get married there. Lydgate is our favorite, and gets our full thumbs up!
#2 of the Best Beach Wedding Spots on Kauai: Nukolii Beach, East Side
Nukolii is an extremely private beach wedding spot on Kauai – so unknown you will barely find it on a map! Despite this, it is very close to one of Kauai’s premier East Side beach hotels, Kauai Beach Resort. It’s great for those wanting an authentic Kauai beach without all the tourists.
#3 of the Best Beach Wedding Spots on Kauai: Shipwrecks Beach, Poipu
Shipwrecks Beach in Poipu on Kauai’s sunny South Shore is by far the most popular choice when it comes to Kauai wedding locations. It’s easy to see why – the beach is flat, wide, has a beautiful backdrop of ocean cliffs and gets a gorgeous sunset almost every evening. It rarely rains on Shipwrecks, which no doubt helps alleviate many bride’s fears about rain on their wedding day. The only downside is that due to its notoriety you may be sharing the beach with 4 or 5 other couples who are also getting married at the same time as you!
#4 of the Best Beach Wedding Spots on Kauai: Anini Beach
Anini Beach on Kauai’s North Shore is a thin, long beach with a lot of trees. Due to it being a shallow reef, it has almost no waves but a lot of pavilions, a camping area and a general beach area. It is often quite populated near the camping area, but since the beach is so long, it is easy to find secluded sections for a more private ceremony, making it another great Kauai wedding location.
#5 of the Best Beach Wedding Spots on Kauai: Mahaulepu
Mahaulepu is an unusual Kauai wedding location. It’s located in Poipu, past Shipwrecks beach, at the end of a long, bumpy dirt road. It’s a beautiful beach, off the beaten path. There are plenty of pine trees for shade, and often a monk seal may be seen resting on the sand at the end of the beach. The beach has cliffs and mountain views. Visitors are allowed at this beach only until 6pm.
#6 of the Best Beach Wedding Spots on Kauai: Hanalei Bay
