This article reviews how to be a good house guest. First it mentions sticking to a schedule and letting the home owner know when you will be coming and going from their home. Most of the suggestions are about respect. Bring a small gift for the host, be respectful of their home life and do not sleep in much later than them or be up at night making noise once they are asleep. Don’t bring more than the host would expect (which means no extra people) and don’t bring everything you own with you. If you will be eating in the house let the home owner know of dietary restrictions so they do not feel bad if you can’t eat something. Contribute to preparing meals. Finally, leave when you planned to leave. No one likes someone who overstays their welcome.
